Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan and Japan meet in Tokyo
During the visit of Turkmenistan's delegation to the Japanese capital, Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa on Tuesday, January 23.

During the conversation, the sides discussed prospects of cooperation in the sphere of balanced use of natural resources and decarbonization. The Japanese Foreign Minister expressed her intention to closely cooperate on the issue of energy transition in the future, noting the importance of Turkmenistan as an important partner in the decarbonization of industry, which is confirmed by the intergovernmental Memorandum of Understanding in this sector.

Also during the talks, the sides exchanged views on the agenda of cooperation in the UN and other international organizations, the Central Asia + Japan Dialogue and summit meetings. As a result of the discussions, the Program of Cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Japan and Turkmenistan for 2024-2026 was signed.
