During the meeting, they also discussed issues of strengthening bilateral cooperation on practical implementation of international treaties on extradition of criminals, on legal assistance in criminal cases and on return of convicted persons to serve their sentences, signed in 2023.
During the talks, the cooperation of the prosecutor's offices of the countries in countering international terrorism, radicalism and extremism, human trafficking, illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and other manifestations of transnational organised crime was also discussed, and the importance of uniting the parties in the collective fight against these phenomena was assessed.
The parties in the framework of interagency cooperation and on the basis of the Memorandum between the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Prosecutor General's Office of the State of Qatar of 2019 agreed to cooperate in order to increase the intellectual potential of each other's employees and develop infrastructure in the use of new digital technologies and artificial intelligence in the activities of prosecutor's offices.
