"Following the original traditions of the Turkmen people of good neighbourliness and respect for the older generation, assessing your huge personal contribution to the development of Turkmen-Turkish relations, your services aimed at the cohesion of our peoples, as well as on the occasion of the 70th anniversary it has been decided to award you, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the honorary title of 'Hormatly il ýaşulusy' of Turkmenistan," the message reads.

In addition, the president reiterated the principle prevailing in the relations between the two states - "One nation - two states".

"It is gratifying to state that year after year new milestones are reached in the trade and economic field. The Republic of Turkey is one of the largest countries in the foreign trade relations of Turkmenistan. Numerous Turkish companies, participating in the implementation of economic projects in our country, contribute to the diversification of the national economy, implementation of social projects," the President of Turkmenistan said.

The Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, G. Berdimuhamedov, who is also the National Leader of the Turkmen people, conveyed his congratulations.
