The 15th meeting of the OTG Council of Elders was held in the capital of Turkmenistan
The 15th meeting of the Council of Elders of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) chaired by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan and member of the Council of Elders of the OTS, was held in Ashgabat today.

Holding the meeting in the capital of Turkmenistan demonstrates the country's active position in developing constructive co-operation with the OTG.

Since 2021, Turkmenistan has had observer status in the Organisation of Turkic States. The OTS member countries are united by the commonality of historical roots, cultural and spiritual traditions with the Turkmen people. The current meeting of the Council of Elders, the consultative body of the OTS, has become a significant contribution to strengthening friendly interstate relations and multifaceted cooperation.

The meeting was held in Ashgabat on the initiative of the Turkmen side. This high-level event demonstrates Turkmenistan's aspiration to expand partnership with Turkic-speaking countries within the framework of an authoritative regional structure.
