Tajikistan's First Export of Mineral Fertilizers to Afghanistan
Tajikistan's Khatlon region has made its first-ever export of mineral fertilizers to Afghanistan, marking a new milestone in the country's trade relations. The export, valued at $169,000, involved 626 tons of fertilizers produced at the Azot plant in Khatlon.
In the first half of this year, Khatlon's foreign trade turnover hit $225.4 million, with exports totaling $117.7 million—a 51.1% increase from the previous year. Notably, agricultural exports through Khatlon and Sughd regions reached 27,100 tons.

Despite a decrease in overall trade turnover with Afghanistan from $110 million in 2022 to $97 million in 2023, Tajikistan continues to expand its export base, including key goods like electricity, cement, coal, and now, mineral fertilizers.
