Uzbek Coach Assists Kyrgyz Boxer in Olympic Semifinals
Uzbek boxing coach Akmal Khasanov acted as a second for Kyrgyz boxer Munarbek Seyitbek Uulu, who made history by reaching the Olympic semifinals for the first time for Kyrgyzstan.
Munarbek's personal coach, Beganas Sultanbaev, couldn't attend the Games due to accreditation issues. Khasanov stepped in, providing strategic advice and support. A video of Sultanbaev cheering from home and shedding tears of joy after the victory went viral, highlighting the emotional significance of this achievement.
Khasanov will continue to assist Munarbek in the semifinal bout on August 9 but will coach Uzbek boxer Abdumalik Khalokov if both reach the final.
