Kazakhstan aims to increase its copper production to 750,000 tons by 2029, supported by a new smelter in the Abay region and legislative reforms that have secured 25 agreements for domestic processing of aluminum and copper.
Kazakhstan is ramping up its copper production, aiming to boost output from 450,000 to 750,000 tons by 2029.
A new copper smelter in the Abay region is central to this effort, alongside legislative reforms that have led to 25 agreements ensuring the domestic processing of aluminum and copper raw materials.
Steel production is set to expand to 10 million tons, with new projects enhancing Kazakhstan's metallurgical capabilities.
These measures, along with support for mechanical engineering, petrochemicals, and the automotive industry, are driving the manufacturing sector's growth, which now contributes 13.3% to the country's GDP.
