Tajikistan Leads Central Asia in Industrial Growth
Tajikistan has emerged as the leader in Central Asia's industrial production growth, according to data released by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Republic.
By the end of 2023, Tajikistan's industrial capacity and production increased by an impressive 12%, outpacing neighboring countries such as Uzbekistan (6%), Kazakhstan (4.3%), and Kyrgyzstan (1.8%). Projections for 2024 are even more optimistic, with an expected growth of 21.2%, driven by the launch of new enterprises.
The country is home to around 3,500 industrial enterprises, primarily focused on manufacturing and extraction. In 2024 alone, 251 new industrial facilities were opened, creating about 2,000 new jobs. The priority sectors include food production, construction, automotive, and textiles.
