Responding to a question about the reasons for supporting the initiative in an interview with Uzbekistan 24, he emphasized that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev accepted the U.S. proposal because the goals of the Board of Peace fully align with the core principles of the country’s foreign policy.

According to Kamilov, resolving the military and political crisis in the Gaza Strip was one of the central topics at the Davos forum, and Uzbekistan has “vital interests” in the Middle East.

He also noted that Uzbekistan’s participation in the Board of Peace reflects international trust and recognition of the country as a responsible participant in global affairs.
