Happy Independence Day to the people of India!
As India marks 79 years of independence, it is worth recalling that the ties between our nations are among the oldest we have — centuries of trade along the Silk Road, and an exchange of knowledge, science and culture that never really stopped.
Today that legacy finds new expression in the Uzbekistan–India strategic partnership and in the India–Central Asia format, which brings the region and India steadily closer. Wishing the Indian people peace, prosperity and continued friendship!
