Tashkent to Host the First Central Asia–Japan Think Tank Forum

On 23–24 September this year, Tashkent will host the first Central Asia–Japan Think Tank Forum, aimed at advancing expert cooperation and developing new approaches to strengthening cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and Japan.

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev addressed the First “Central Asia – Republic of Korea” Summit in Seoul and put forward proposals in five strategic areas of cooperation.

The President noted that Central Asia continues to demonstrate robust economic growth of over 6%, while the region’s combined GDP has surpassed $500 billion. With a population of more than 80 million, Central Asia is steadily transforming into a “hub of global connectivity” across Eurasia.

Celebrations marking the 35th anniversary of the Republic’s independence were held in Tajikistan.

Celebrations marking the 35th anniversary of the Republic’s independence were held in Tajikistan.

Two major facilities were inaugurated in Dushanbe ahead of the anniversary: the National Theatre and the National Stadium, designed to accommodate 30,000 spectators, which hosted a theatrical performance. The capital also held a ceremonial parade and a festive procession.
