IICA experts discuss poverty alleviation strategies with the Central Asia–China Cooperation Center
Amb.Javlon Vakhabov, Managing Director of the International Institute for Central Asia (IICA), met with Deputy Director Kou Jianhai of the Central Asia–China Poverty Reduction Cooperation Center.

The parties exchanged views on prospects for developing cooperation between Uzbekistan and China in enhancing public welfare and reducing poverty.

During the discussion, Amb. Vakhabov emphasized that advancing the living standards of the population is one of the core priorities of Uzbekistan's state policy. In accordance with the "Uzbekistan - 2030" strategy, the country plans to expand its economy to over $240 billion, join the ranks of nations with upper-middle-income status, and completely eliminate poverty.  

Kou Jianhai expressed the Center's readiness to assist Uzbekistan in implementing these intiatives. Among the promising areas, the expert highlighted the study of China's poverty alleviation experience, the development of methods for its adaptation taking into account national specifics, and the advancement of joint projects in this domain.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to expand practical cooperation, including working visits and expert discussions within bilateral frameworks and multilateral platforms.
