During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and future opportunities for developing cooperation between Uzbekistan and Norway, both bilaterally and within the emerging Central Asia–Nordic cooperation platform.
Javlon Vakhabov noted the growing mutual interest in cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and the Nordic region in recent years, and emphasized the considerable potential for deepening partnership with Norway, including through expanded expert and research engagement.
According to him, the establishment of sustainable dialogue platforms between Central Asia and the countries of the Nordic region would give additional momentum to regional cooperation and strengthen mutual understanding on key issues of interregional engagement.
For her part, Helene Sand Andresen emphasized Norway’s interest in expanding its presence and intensifying cooperation with the countries of Central Asia. She noted that bilateral relations retain significant untapped potential, including in such areas as green transformation, digital technologies, education, and innovation.
In conclusion, the parties reaffirmed their readiness to further develop mutually beneficial cooperation, including through the organization of joint events, research projects, and expert dialogues aimed at elaborating practical proposals on relevant issues of cooperation between the two regions.
