The meeting focused on the current state of bilateral relations and prospects for closer cooperation between the regions of Uzbekistan and China.
During the meeting, Amb.Vakhabov expressed appreciation to the Embassy of China for its support in arranging the visit of Uzbekistan delegation to the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR) on July 14–18.
Discussions held during the visit with representatives of government, business community, academies and experts provided a deeper understanding of Xinjiang’s development priorities and outlined key directions for expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and the region.
Amb.Yu Jun emphasized that China places considerable importance on the partnership with Central Asian countries, with Xinjiang playing a central role in cooperation across transport, trade, agriculture and cultural exchange.
In this context, particular attention was given to expanding cooperation between XUAR and Uzbekistan’s regions, especially Andijan Region, the country’s easternmost region and the closest to Xinjiang.

The China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway project was identified as one of the key priorities in this area. Andijan Region is expected to become an important part of the new route, providing direct access to Uzbekistan’s rail network and facilitating the movement of freight across the country and throughout Central Asia.
Significant opportunities were also identified for expanding trade and economic cooperation. One area identified for further development was the potential of the Xinjiang Pilot Free Trade Zone, together with opportunities to work with leading XUAR companies interested in joint investment projects.
The discussion also covered cooperation in green energy and agriculture, as well as closer engagement between research and educational institutions in Uzbekistan and XUAR.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to continue advancing the partnership through both bilateral cooperation and multilateral platforms.
