The main focus of the meeting was current regional and international developments, alongside opportunities to enhance partnerships between think tanks of Uzbekistan and China.

Jia Guodong commended the steady growth in Uzbekistan-China relations and the deepening of the Central Asia-China format. He particularly emphasized Uzbekistan's key role in building a stable framework for cooperation across Central Asia.

Amb.Vakhabov emphasized that the active engagement of research institutes plays a vital role in this process in forging mutually beneficial partnerships.

Both parties expressed interest in advancing expert dialogue on interregional cooperation, recognizing Xinjiang’s strategic position in expanding China’s connections with Eurasia, and Central Asia in particular.

Within this framework, particular attention was devoted to deepening trade and economic relations, digitalizing infrastructure, and deploying renewable energy solutions. The participants also highlighted the value of exploring Xinjiang’s experience in economic development.

Concluding the meeting, the IICA and the Center signed a Memorandum of Understanding outlining the primary avenues for future cooperation.

The Research Center for the Geopolitics of Central Asia, founded in 2011, operates as a research unit of Xinjiang University. It is one of Xinjiang’s leading think tanks, focusing on geopolitical and socio-economic developments across Central Asia.
