IICA and ORSAM Strengthen Academic and Research Cooperation
Javlon Vakhabov, Director of the International Institute for Central Asia (IICA), held an online meeting with Kadir Temiz, President of Türkiye’s Center for Middle Eastern Studies (ORSAM) (Ortadoğu Araştırmaları Merkezi).

The meeting included an exchange of views on key regional and international issues, as well as discussions on current trends shaping Central Asia and prospects for further strengthening expert cooperation between Uzbekistan and Türkiye.

At the outset of the meeting, Javlon Vakhabov noted that relations between Uzbekistan and Türkiye continue to develop steadily in the spirit of a comprehensive strategic partnership.

It was emphasized that active political dialogue and engagement at various levels create favorable conditions for joint research initiatives and strengthening professional ties between the expert communities of Uzbekistan and Türkiye.

In turn, Kadir Temiz underscored the importance of maintaining dialogue between the two countries’ think tanks, highlighting the value of regular expert consultations on pressing regional and international issues.

Following the meeting, the International Institute for Central Asia (IICA) and ORSAM signed a Memorandum of Understanding, establishing a solid foundation for long-term partnership.

It is worth noting that the first meeting between IICA Director Javlon Vakhabov and ORSAM President Kadir Temiz took place in Ankara on June 19, laying the groundwork for further cooperation between the two think tanks.

Established in 2009, the Center for Middle Eastern Studies (ORSAM) is a Turkish think tank specializing in political and economic developments in the Middle East.
