IICA and S&P Global Discuss Current Trends in Global Energy
Head of Department at the International Institute for Central Asia (IICA) Daniyar Kurbanov held a meeting with a delegation of S&P Global experts led by Vice President Matthew J. Sagers.

During the discussion, the parties exchanged views on current issues related to the development of global energy, the situation in Central Asia’s energy sector, as well as prospects for research cooperation between IICA and S&P Global.

Daniyar Kurbanov noted that amid the transformation of global energy markets, expert dialogue on energy security, the development of renewable energy sources, transport connectivity, and sustainable economic growth in Central Asian countries is becoming increasingly important.

For his part, Matthew J. Sagers emphasized that, against the backdrop of growing international interest in Central Asia as a promising energy, transport, and investment space, S&P Global is interested in preparing research materials on Uzbekistan’s energy sector, including in cooperation with IICA.

Concluding the meeting, the parties agreed to maintain working contacts and consider opportunities for implementing joint expert and analytical initiatives on energy, transport, and regional connectivity.
