The two discussed the outcomes of the first "Central Asia–Afghanistan" Think Tank Forum, held on June 16 in Kabul, along with prospects for further expert engagement.

Opening the meeting, Javlon Vakhabov pointed to the dynamic character of Uzbekistan–Afghanistan engagement, grounded in regular political dialogue and mutual trust. Cooperation continues to expand across trade and the economy, transport connectivity, energy, and the humanitarian dimension.

Broadening practical cooperation, he noted, serves the interests of both countries and contributes to strengthening stability across the region.

For his part, Abdul Hai Qanit commended the current level of Uzbekistan–Afghanistan relations, singling out Uzbekistan's particular role in advancing regional engagement with Afghanistan.

In his view, Uzbekistan's approach — built on equality and respect for Afghan interests — is attracting growing interest among partners across the region and lays the groundwork for drawing Afghanistan more fully into regional processes.

Following the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in developing expert and analytical cooperation and in continuing to exchange assessments on the regional agenda.

The Center for Strategic Studies is the analytical arm of Afghanistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Its work covers regional processes, cross-border issues, and expert support for the country's foreign policy. On April 13 of this year, IICA and the Center signed a Protocol on Cooperation.
