The conversation addressed current issues of Uzbekistan–Finland cooperation, opportunities for advancing engagement between Central Asia and the Nordic countries, and cooperation between the expert communities of the two regions.

Javlon Vakhabov noted that the official visit of the President of Finland to Uzbekistan in 2025 marked an important milestone in the development of Uzbekistan–Finland relations, laying the foundation for further expansion of cooperation in trade, investment, industry, and innovation.

Johanna Maria Ögren commended the steady development of trade and economic engagement between the two countries and pointed to Finland's growing interest in expanding cooperation with Uzbekistan and Central Asia as a whole.

The Ambassador emphasized that intensifying expert exchanges between analytical institutions serves as a practical tool for developing initiatives aimed at deepening bilateral and interregional ties.

Following the meeting, the sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in further advancing practical and expert-analytical dialogue between IICA and Finnish think tanks, and in implementing joint initiatives aimed at strengthening the partnership between the Nordic countries and Central Asia.

Background: On July 27 of this year, Johanna Maria Ögren presented her credentials to the President of Uzbekistan. The new Ambassador has more than 20 years of experience at Finnish diplomatic missions in Russia, Belarus, Lithuania, and Ukraine.
