The IICA met with the Institute for European Politics
The International Institute for Central Asia (IICA) held an online meeting with Prof.Funda Tekin, Director of the Institute for European Politics (IEP) in Berlin, and Dr.Julian Plottka, Scientific Senior Project Manager at IEP.

During the discussion, the parties exchanged views on the current regional and international agenda and also explored opportunities for establishing a think tank-to-think tank partnership between the two countries.

Amb.Javlon Vakhabov, the Managing Director of the IICA, introduced the Institute’s activities, its goals and objectives to the IEP representatives. He also provided detailed information on the current dynamics of regional cooperation in Central Asia and the interaction among the countries of the region within the framework of the "C5+1" platform.

Prof.Tekin noted that the Central Asian countries continue to demonstrate their commitment to the regional stability and constructive dialogue. This approach provides a solid foundation for further expanding cooperation with the European Union within the “C5+EU” cooperation.

Prof.Tekin also reaffirmed the IEP’s readiness to develop partnership with the IICA and proposed conducting joint research projects, regular expert dialogues, and the organization of conferences and policy discussions.

The parties emphasized that closer interaction would contribute to enriching the agenda of both bilateral and multilateral engagement while strengthening expert dialogue between Central Asia and EU.

At the end of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their readiness to deepen partnership with the help of mutual visits and expert discussions within bilateral cooperation and multilaateral platforms.
