The meeting was attended by ICCA RAS’s Scientific Director Alexander Lukin, Advisor to the Director Vladimir Potapenko, Researcher at the Central Asian Studies Center Alexandra Perminova, and Head of the Department for International Cooperation and External Relations Olga Gerasimova.

Discussions focused on strengthening institutional partnerships, with particular attention given to prospects for joint research, knowledge exchange, and organizing conferences, seminars, and roundtable discussions.

Highlighting the growing interest in Central Asia, Alexander Lukin introduced the Central Asian Studies Center, established at ICCA RAS in 2023, now the largest research division dedicated to the region’s development.

Javlon Vakhabov emphasized that the center’s creation reflects the increasing geopolitical significance of Central Asia and expressed confidence that its research will contribute to a deeper understanding of regional dynamics.
Following the discussions, IICA and ICCA RAS signed a Cooperation Agreement, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening expert and academic ties between Central Asian countries and Russia.
