President of Turkmenistan S. Berdimuhamedov sent a congratulatory telegram to President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping on the Chinese New Year
"We in Turkmenistan highly value relations with the People's Republic of China, which are based on the principles of mutual respect and trust, equality and mutual benefit."
- Berdimuhamedov stressed that currently the interstate Turkmen-Chinese dialogue has a strategic and long-term character.
The commitment to the course of further expansion of relations with China through the realization of the existing great potential for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries was noted.

During the meetings we held very open and confidential talks, exchanged views on the current state of bilateral cooperation and outlined goals for its further development."
