In particular, at the meeting at the Moscow office of the CIS Executive Committee, the prospects for expanding Turkmenistan's cooperation with the organisation were discussed, and a schedule of joint activities for the current year was agreed upon.

Given its neutral status, Turkmenistan is an associate member of the CIS and regularly takes initiatives to expand and deepen practical co-operation with the Commonwealth states.
