"According to forecasts, energy consumption in Kazakhstan will only grow. Therefore, work is underway to involve gas capacities of western regions in the country's energy balance. Generation in the Northern and Southern zones is being built up. ", - said A. Smailov.
The Prime Minister also added that major projects with strategic investors Total Energies, Acwa Power and Masdar will be implemented in order to achieve a 15% share of renewable energy sources by 2030.
In general, about 26 GW of base and manoeuvre generation is planned to be brought into the Unified Electricity System of Kazakhstan by 2035.
