Talks between the foreign ministers of Tajikistan and Kazakhstan took place in Dushanbe
On 25 January, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan S. Mukhriddin held talks with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan M. Nurtleu, who is in Tajikistan on an official visit.

The heads of foreign ministries discussed in detail the state and prospects of development of Tajik-Kazakh relations of strategic partnership and alliance in political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, exchanged views on regional security issues and interaction between the two countries within the framework of international and regional organisations.

The talks focused on the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level following President Rahmon's state visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan in May 2023, particularly on boosting trade, energy and investment cooperation.

In the course of the talks, the sides reaffirmed the line of mutual support in promoting the initiatives of Tajikistan and Kazakhstan within the UN, SCO, CIS, CSTO. OSCE, the mechanism of consultative meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia and other multilateral structures.
