During the meeting, the two sides discussed cooperation in the water and electricity sectors. In this context, the development of renewable energy sources was identified as a promising area of Turkmen-Emirati cooperation, the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported.
On the same day, Rashid Meredov held talks with Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technologies, Director General of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). They discussed, in particular, the establishment of contacts on the introduction of advanced technologies of the UAE in the oil industry, as well as the implementation of agreements reached at the level of the leadership of the two states. The meeting was also attended by Mohammed Jamil Al Ramahi, Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (MASDAR).
The Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan also met with Deputy Director General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) Gauri Singh. In the context of expanding cooperation, the sides exchanged views on the possibilities of opening an IRENA office in Turkmenistan.
