Qatari investor plans to buy Kazakh bank
Lesha Bank, headquartered in Doha, announced its plans to acquire shares of Kazakh bank, owned by Baiterek Holding.

This follows from an official statement published on the website of the Qatar Stock Exchange.

"Lesha Bank has entered into a preliminary initial agreement with NUH Baiterek JSC dated February 14, 2024 regarding the potential acquisition of the entire authorized capital of the bank in the Republic of Kazakhstan," the statement reads.

The fate of the deal, as it is said in the message, will depend on successful agreement of the parties on terms of final agreement, which will be concluded between the parties in connection with the acquisition.

The statement does not specify about which Kazakhstani bank we are talking about. It is worth noting that NUH Baiterek became the sole owner of Bereke Bank in September 2022.

"Lesha Bank, formerly known as Qatar First Bank (QFB), is the first independent Shariah-compliant bank authorized by the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA) and listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange. The Bank acts as an investment partner, offering attractive premium investment opportunities and innovative financial solutions."
