Korea Boosts Agriculture in Tajikistan with US$10 Million Donation
The Republic of Korea has donated US$10 million to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to enhance sustainable agriculture in Tajikistan.
This funding, facilitated through the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), will support 200,000 people, including 40,000 youth, by promoting digital farming skills and creating new income opportunities. By focusing on agricultural productivity and inclusivity, particularly for vulnerable young farmers in remote areas, this initiative aims to strengthen food security and foster innovation in agribusiness.

This collaboration aligns with Tajikistan’s priorities to achieve food security and improve access to high-quality nutrition. The development and implementation of sustainable farming practices are expected to ensure food security for future generations. According to recent assessments, over 1.5 million people in Tajikistan faced acute food insecurity in 2023.
