Kazakhstan Railways Sees 14-Fold Surge in Container Shipments via TITR
Kazakhstan Railways reported a 14-fold increase in container shipments via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) in 2024, driven by strategic improvements, enhanced port infrastructure, and a streamlined "single window" system.
Kazakhstan Railways has reported a 14-fold increase in container shipments through the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) in 2024, with shipments from China significantly up compared to the same period last year. This growth is driven by strategic improvements, including the establishment of the Middle Corridor Multimodal joint venture, which introduced a streamlined "single window" system.
Enhanced port infrastructure along the Caspian Sea has also boosted efficiency, with delivery times from China to Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Romania now significantly reduced. Notably, a container train from Xi’an, China, reached Tashkent, Uzbekistan, in just 5 days this July, highlighting the route's improved performance.
