Uzbekistan to Host 9th AIIB Annual Meeting in Samarkand
Uzbekistan will host the Ninth Annual Meeting of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) on September 25-26, 2024, marking AIIB’s first meeting in Central Asia.
The event will focus on innovations in infrastructure financing, climate resilience, and digital transformation.
The bank has already invested over USD 3.1 billion in Uzbekistan, with more projects to come under a new three-year agreement worth USD 2.6 billion.
Key speakers include AIIB President Jin Liqun and representatives from major global institutions like the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and UN agencies. The meeting will feature over 25 panel discussions, addressing key infrastructure challenges in the region and beyond.
