This fall, it will host the first-ever Bukhara Biennial from Sept. 5 to Nov. 20, showcasing contemporary works by global artists like Antony Gormley, Laila Gohar, and Himali Singh Soin in its historic district of restored Islamic architecture.

The main venues for the event include the Kalyan Minaret, Miri-Arab Madrasa, Magoki-Attori Mosque, Ahmadjon Caravanserai, the House Museum of Fayzulla Khodjaev, and other historic sites.
