Trilateral Meeting of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan Prime Ministers Focuses on Regional Cooperation
A key meeting was held between Adylbek Kasymaliyev, Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Abdulla Aripov, Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, and Kohir Rasulzoda, Prime Minister of Tajikistan.

The gathering aimed to strengthen regional cooperation and build on prior agreements made by the heads of state of the three countries—President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan, and President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan—who have long prioritized collaboration and regional integration.

The prime ministers discussed the vast potential for enhancing cooperation across key sectors including trade, logistics, energy, and cultural exchange. They emphasized that border and interregional cooperation is vital for driving further engagement between their nations, noting the importance of developing stronger ties at the regional level.

One of the key highlights of the meeting was the completion of the border delimitation process between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.

On January 27, 2023, the two countries exchanged ratification documents for a treaty on the state border. Furthermore, discussions on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, which were formalized in December 2024, will soon reach their conclusion with the finalization of remaining border sections.

Leaders expressed confidence that this meeting will shape the region’s future for decades, ensuring prosperity and stability for their nations. A future summit between the heads of state is expected to further foster good-neighborly relations and deepen multifaceted partnerships between the countries.

Notably, the meeting took place at the intersection of the borders of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan in the Batken region of Kyrgyzstan, the Fergana region of Uzbekistan, and the Sughd region of Tajikistan.
