Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan Finalize Border Agreement
On February 21, 2025, Kamchybek Tashiev, Deputy Prime Minister and head of the State National Security Committee of Kyrgyzstan, announced the final agreement on the demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border.
In a historic moment for both nations, Tashiev highlighted the significance of the day, marking the completion of the border's full delineation. He shared that several important agreements had been prepared for signing, including the border treaty, a water resource management pact, and agreements on cross-border roads and infrastructure development.
 
The protocol, signed by Tashiev and his Tajik counterpart, Saymumin Yatimov, officially concludes the lengthy process of demarcation and lays a foundation for future cooperation between the two countries.
