IICA and Majan Council Sign Partnership Agreement in Research Field
The International Institute for Central Asia (IICA) and the Oman-based Majan Council have signed a partnership agreement in the field of research.

In a meeting between IICA Director Javlon Vakhabov and Majan Council President Dawud Al Ansari, the two sides reached an agreement on conducting joint research, exchanging experts, and organizing conferences and roundtables dedicated to pressing issues in both regions.

Both parties highlighted the active cooperation between Central Asian countries and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for over 30 years, providing a solid foundation for further deepening their relations.

During the discussions, Dawud Al Ansari emphasized Oman’s growing interest in strengthening ties with Central Asia, citing key events such as the second ministerial meeting of the "Central Asia – GCC" strategic dialogue, set to take place in April 2024 in Tashkent.

In turn, Javlon Vakhabov underscored the importance of research cooperation in deepening the partnership between IICA and the Majan Council. He noted that this collaboration would open new horizons for knowledge exchange and create a unified platform for scientific and academic initiatives.

The Omani expert expressed confidence that the agreement would foster stronger academic ties between the regions and create broader opportunities for joint efforts to study global and regional processes.

At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed that the signed agreement represents a significant step in strengthening IICA’s international partnership network and affirming its role as a vital center for knowledge and intellectual thought in Central Asia.
