Officials finalized the projected alignment of the state border, confirming that the Chashma spring will remain within Kyrgyz territory, while agreeing on its shared use.
This spring, known locally as a vital natural water source for communities on both sides of the border, has historically been a symbol of both the challenges and the deep ties between the two nations.
Uzbek citizens will be guaranteed free and unrestricted access to the spring, with the right to use two-thirds of its water resources. Any actions that could affect the volume or quality of the water will require mutual coordination.
This agreement reflects the mutual commitment to strengthening friendship, good neighborly relations, and regional cooperation.
