President of Tajikistan Meets with Prime Minister of Pakistan
In Dushanbe, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held a meeting with Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mian Shehbaz Sharif, who arrived in the Tajik capital to attend the inaugural High-Level International Conference on Glacier Preservation.
The two leaders discussed key areas of bilateral cooperation, including security, defense, energy, transportation, and communications. Particular emphasis was placed on the strategic CASA-1000 project, seen as a vital link fostering connectivity between Central and South Asia.
President Rahmon reiterated Tajikistan’s interest in enhancing regional connectivity through the expansion of transport infrastructure and access to Pakistani ports. He also acknowledged Pakistan’s support for Tajikistan’s international initiatives on climate and water issues.
