Uzbekistan and Tajikistan Agree on Electricity Supplies from Rogun HPP
The Government of Tajikistan has approved an agreement with Uzbekistan for the supply of electricity generated by the Rogun Hydropower Plant at a rate of 3.4 cents per kWh (VAT at zero rate). The price will be indexed annually by 1% starting from the second year of planned deliveries.
???? Until construction of the plant is complete, electricity will be supplied during the vegetation season (April to September).
???? Once Rogun reaches full design capacity, deliveries will continue year-round under a mutually agreed schedule.
???? Supplies will complement existing electricity imports from Tajikistan’s national utility “Barki Tojik.”
???? The agreement is concluded for 20 years, with an option for extension.
This project marks a significant step toward strengthening energy interconnectivity in Central Asia and ensuring a sustainable regional power exchange.
