The Russian side was represented by Alexander Korolev, Deputy Director of CCEIS HSE, along with researchers Darya Rekeda, Alexander Zaitsev, Olga Biryukova, and Lolita Koroleva.
The meeting focused on the prospects for strengthening collaboration between the institutions, particularly in the fields of scientific research, educational programs, and analytical projects related to Central Asia.

J. Vakhabov emphasized that cooperation with CCEIS HSE is a key step in enhancing scientific engagement with Russia’s expert and analytical community. He noted that joint efforts would facilitate a more detailed analysis of regional dynamics and contribute to the development of practical policy recommendations for addressing Central Asia’s pressing challenges.

In turn, A. Korolev highlighted that since 2018, CCEIS HSE has been actively studying the post-Soviet space, with Central Asia being one of its primary areas of focus. “Today, Central Asia runs as a 'red thread' through all our research, and there is a significant need to deepen scientific studies on the region,” he stated.
Expanding on this, D. Rekeda informed the participants about the first-ever Russian Central Asian Studies Conference, which was held at the Center on February 13 this year. The conference gathered representatives from 26 Russian analytical institutions specializing in Central Asian studies.

As a result of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue cooperation, aiming to leverage the expertise of the research community for a more profound and comprehensive understanding of regional processes.
