IICA Director Meets with U.S. Ambassador to Uzbekistan
Javlon Vakhabov, Managing Director of the International Institute for Central Asia (IICA), met with Jonathan Henick, Ambassador of the United States to Uzbekistan.
The discussion focused on the current state and future prospects of Uzbekistan–U.S. partnership. Particular attention was given to the role of expert dialogue in strengthening bilateral relations.
Javlon Vakhabov noted that the partnership between Uzbekistan and the United States is gaining increasing stability and depth, reflecting strengthened mutual trust between the leaders of the two countries and the implementation of joint initiatives in key sectors.
Ambassador Henick stated that the past year has laid a solid foundation and defined a clear agenda for bilateral cooperation, referring to four meetings and two phone calls between the Presidents of Uzbekistan and the United States.
The Ambassador also highlighted Uzbekistan’s growing international role, noting the President’s invitation to the G20 Summit in Miami and participation in the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace held on February 19 in Washington.
The meeting concluded with a discussion of upcoming joint events planned for the year, including thematic conferences and expert discussions on priority areas of bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
