During the meeting, the parties reviewed key areas of Uzbekistan–Tajikistan cooperation, as well as issues related to deepening cooperation between the two countries’ think tanks.
IICA Director Amb. Javlon Vakhabov noted that the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two analytical centers provides a solid foundation for the regular exchange of expert views on key issues on the Uzbek-Tajik agenda. In his words, think tanks serve as an important bridge between government institutions and the expert community.
For his part, CSI Director Khayriddin Usmonzoda emphasized that relations between the two countries have reached an unprecedentedly high level in recent years, as evidenced by the concrete practical steps taken by both sides, demonstrating their commitment to mutually beneficial cooperation. He also noted the enduring importance of analytical centers in providing expert support for bilateral engagement.
Following the meeting, the sides agreed on a further IICA-CSI Action Plan for 2026, reaffirming their mutual interest in consistently expanding practical, expert, and analytical cooperation.
