IICA strengthens partnership with the Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation
On October 31, the International Institute for Central Asia (IICA) hosted a roundtable discussion titled “Central Asia and the Nordic Countries: New Opportunities for Partnership” with the participation of H.E. Alexander Stubb, President of Finland. Within the framework of the event, a Cooperation Agreement was signed between the International Institute for Central Asia and the Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation.

The document provides for conducting joint research in the fields of politics, economics, and regional security, organizing mutual visits and maintaining regular contacts, as well as holding joint events on issues of mutual interest.

Both sides expressed interest in combining their research efforts to promote professional dialogue and create joint platforms for developing balanced approaches to sustainable development between the countries of Central Asia and the Nordic Council.

The Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation is a leading think tank based in Helsinki, Finland. It was founded in 2000 by Martti Ahtisaari, Nobel Peace Prize laureate and former President of Finland. The Foundation is engaged in peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and supporting the achievement of sustainable peace in various regions of the world.
