IICA and the Indian Council of World Affairs Signed a Memorandum of Understanding
On September 4, 2025, an online meeting took place between the Director of the International Institute for Central Asia (IICA), Javlon Vakhabov, and the Acting Director General of the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA), Nutan Kapur Mahawar.

Within the framework of the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed, marking the beginning of an official partnership between the two leading think tanks.

The document is aimed at developing scientific and expert cooperation and provides for the organization of reciprocal visits, joint research, exchange of analytical materials, as well as the implementation of specialist exchange programs in the field of international relations and regional studies.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Javlon Vakhabov emphasized that establishing partnerships with the Indian Council of World Affairs lays the foundation for regular expert exchange and deeper professional cooperation.

In turn, Nutan Kapur Mahawar noted that Central Asia occupies an important place in India’s foreign policy priorities.

She also stressed that thanks to the initiatives and policies of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, an atmosphere of trust and constructive cooperation has been formed in the region, opening up new opportunities for expanding expert contacts.

The signed document has become the fourth agreement of the Council with research institutions of Uzbekistan, reflecting the growing importance of the region in international dialogue.

The Indian Council of World Affairs is India’s leading state research center in the field of foreign policy and international relations, playing a key role in shaping the country’s foreign policy approaches.
