The parties reviewed progress on previously reached agreements and coordinated plans for upcoming joint activities, including expert discussions, thematic seminars, and roundtables on issues of regional cooperation.

During the meeting, the IICA Director underscored the need to move from general understandings to a more sustainable, institution-based partnership model. Particular attention was given to the exchange of analytical materials, the preparation of concise, practice-oriented recommendations, and the engagement of youth and the academic community in applied formats.

In turn, Janne Taalas emphasized CMI’s readiness to expand expert contacts, support joint research, and involve the Foundation’s specialists in regional projects organized by IICA. In this context, the Finnish side also noted the high level of peacebuilding processes in Central Asia and expressed interest in providing expert support for them.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to deepen the partnership between the two research institutions and to continue substantive cooperation on the preparation of near-term joint events and publications, as well as on the regular exchange of expert information.
