IICA and the Institute of Oriental Studies Sign Memorandum of Understanding
During a visit by the delegation of the International Institute for Central Asia (IICA) to Moscow, IICA leadership met with the representatives of the Russian Academy of Sciences’ Institute of Oriental Studies. The two institutions exchanged overviews of their current work and explored avenues for bilateral cooperation.

They identified a broad spectrum of collaboration formats, including joint research on political processes, regional dynamics, and contemporary international trends; the production of applied analytics; the development of humanities and cultural projects; and the implementation of academic exchange and research internship programs.

Special emphasis was placed on integrating fundamental and applied scientific approaches, fostering interdisciplinary dialogue, and advancing expert assessments on key developments in Central Asia and its neighboring regions.

The meeting culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between IICA and the Institute of Oriental Studies, establishing the foundation for a sustained, long-term partnership. The memorandum reflects both parties’ commitment to institutional collaboration, knowledge exchange, and coordinated research efforts aimed at deepening understanding of the Eurasian space and formulating balanced, expert-driven solutions.
