It was noted that the Cooperation Agreement signed in 2022 between IICA and IREECA CASS laid the groundwork for establishing a long-term partnership and the joint implementation of practical initiatives.
During the meeting, the two institutes reviewed the implementation of the 2024–2025 Joint Action Plan, which provides for the exchange of expert knowledge, joint research, regular consultations, and the organization of educational forums.

Two institutes emphasized that Central Asia is increasingly becoming an integral part of new Eurasian dynamics, with its political and socio-economic transformation attracting significant attention from the international expert community.
Particular attention was paid to the large-scale reforms undertaken in Uzbekistan since 2017, which have enhanced governance, strengthened public consensus, and created new conditions for interstate and interregional cooperation.
The meeting also focused on the progress of joint projects, the development of academic and educational exchanges, support for youth initiatives, and the expansion of analytical research on current issues of integration, innovation, and the digital economy.
Representatives from both institutions highlighted the importance of a systematic expert dialogue, expressed mutual interest in developing a platform for sharing experience, strengthening partnerships between Central Asia and China, and formulating practical recommendations for the region’s sustainable development.

In this context, the IICA Director underscored the priority of promoting humanitarian exchanges, supporting academic mobility, implementing joint research projects, and organizing educational forums to bring together young people, scholars, and professionals from different countries.

In turn, IREECA CASS Director Sun Zhuangzhi expressed interest in holding regular online consultations with IICA—including on preparations for major international summits, exploring new areas of cooperation, and deepening the study of China’s regional development experience.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the partnership, jointly implementing academic initiatives, and developing a platform for ongoing expert dialogue between the two institutes.
