The IICA representative participated in the SCO Think Tank Dialogue, held within the framework of the “Dialogue of World Mayors – Cities of the SCO Summits” forum, as well as in the “SCO Think Tank Forum 2025.”


Discussions focused on the current state and future prospects of the SCO in today’s international context, the consolidation of regional stability, the enhancement of economic connectivity, and the deepening of humanitarian cooperation. Special emphasis was placed on the role of Central Asia as a pivotal link in advancing integration and infrastructure initiatives across the SCO space.
As part of the visit, meetings were held with the leadership of the Shanghai Academy of Global Governance and Regional Studies at the Shanghai International Studies University (SISU), the Institute for Social Development of Europe and Asia under the Development Research Center of the State Council of China, the SCO International Legal Training and Cooperation Center, the China Center for SCO Studies, and others.


The parties discussed expanding research collaboration through joint conferences, expert meetings, thematic seminars, and roundtables, as well as exchanging analytical materials and publications. The Chinese side expressed strong interest in deepening practical cooperation in sustainable development, digitalization, food security, educational programs, and capacity-building.
The working visit of the IICA Deputy Director strengthened the ties between the expert communities of Uzbekistan and China, laying the groundwork for long-term partnership aimed at promoting constructive dialogue and enhancing the SCO’s role as an effective platform for multilateral cooperation.
