The IICA Hosts Meeting with the International Water Management Institute
On 5 March, the International Institute for Central Asia (IICA) held a meeting with B. Janusz-Pawletta, regional representative of the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) in Central Asia.

During the meeting, parties discussed the current state of water management in the Central Asian region, as well as prospects for further strengthening cooperation in this field.

Janusz-Pawletta highly appreciated Uzbekistan’s policy in water resource management, emphasizing its importance and effectiveness in addressing modern water-related and environmental challenges.

The discussion also covered issues of regional cooperation in the water sector, enhancing the effectiveness of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (IFAS), and expanding the participation of Central Asian countries in regional initiatives.

Special attention was paid to enhancing expert collaboration between two organizations. In particular, the participants discussed plans for the exchange of experience between specialists and the implementation of joint projects.

At the end of the meeting, the sides reaffirmed their interest in further expanding the partnership and implementing joint scientific and expert initiatives in the field of sustainable water management.
