Research and Expert Cooperation between Central Asia and the Nordic Region Discussed in Oslo
During a working visit to Oslo, IICA Javlon Vakhabov participated in a roundtable dedicated to the prospects for developing research and expert cooperation between Central Asian and Nordic think tanks.

The event was organized by Norwegian Centre for Conflict Resolution (NOREF) and brought together leadership and representatives of leading Nordic and Central Asian research institutions, including Norwegian Institute of International Affairs, Peace Research Institute Oslo, and Fridtjof Nansen Institute.

The roundtable discussed key areas of cooperation between research organizations of Central Asia and the Nordic countries in the context of growing political and economic interaction between the two regions.

Participants emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation among think tanks through joint research projects, expert consultations, fellow exchange programs, and the development of policy-oriented dialogue on regional and global issues.

In this context, the participants welcomed the success of the first Central Asia–Nordic Countries Think Tank Forum, held at IICA last year. Experts underlined the importance of continuing this dialogue and regularly organizing similar meetings to further strengthen expert engagement between the two regions.

Javlon Vakhabov noted that expanding cooperation among think tanks would contribute to deeper mutual understanding, the exchange of expertise, and the development of practical recommendations on regional and international cooperation, as well as help shape a substantive agenda for dialogue at high and highest levels.
