Meeting with Norway’s Ambassador to Central Asia Held in Oslo
During his visit to Oslo, Javlon Vakhabov, Director of the International Institute for Central Asia (IICA), held a meeting with Helena Sand, Andresen the newly appointed Ambassador of Norway to the countries of Central Asia.

The discussion focused on current issues of bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Norway, as well as opportunities for multilateral engagement within the emerging “Central Asia – Nordics” format.

Javlon Vakhabov noted that Uzbekistan and Norway share a common commitment to strengthening peace, stability, and sustainable development, which provides a solid foundation for deepening bilateral cooperation and expanding expert dialogue on regional security, peace mediation, and sustainable development.

The parties also highlighted the positive dynamics in the development of relations between the countries of Central Asia and the Nordics amid growing mutual interest. An important milestone in shaping interregional dialogue was the first meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Nordic countries and Central Asia held in Vienna in 2025, which contributed to making cooperation more systematic and sustainable.

In conclusion, the parties agreed to continue active dialogue and promote further strengthening of cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and the Nordics in the political, economic, humanitarian, and research spheres.
