1.6 million tourists visited Kyrgyzstan in the first quarter of 2024
The head of the Tourism Department under the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan, M. Usubaliyev, took part in a meeting of the CIS Tourism Council in Cholpon—Ata.
He announed that 3.3 million people crossed the Kyrgyz border in the first quarter of 2024, 1.6 million of them tourists. In 2023, more than 8.5 million tourists visited Kyrgyzstan.
M. Usubaliyev underlined the importance of tourism development for strengthening economies and relations with other countries. He also noted that tourism is a key factor in mutual understanding and cultural exchange between the peoples of the CIS.
